Case Studies

Case Study 1

A public house in Rickmansworth has recently been refurbished but there is no commercial gas supply in the high street for the heating and kitchens. The owner was therefore having to heat the interior with portable convectors which was not only very uneconomic but also dangerous to the general public due to trailing electric leads.

Solution: Two ASH-12x2CS dual split units were fitted. The indoor fan coils were fitted to the supporting beams on both sides of the Pub. These units generate 15.2Kw in heat yet costs only 6Kw to run. As the heating is being discharged by the fan coils the temperature in the room space was more evenly spread. Within one hour of the units being switched on all the portable heating units were removed and the overall ambience in the Pub was much improved.

Case Study 2

A Client, a fencing contractor and supplier has a large wooden work shop and sales office in a garden centre. It is exposed to the harsh realties of winter and is fully exposed to the sun all day in the Summer. As a sales office it would be virtually impossible to work comfortably either in the summer and winter. Electric heat is too expensive and gas is dangerous because of fire.

Solution: fit an ASH-18CK wall split unit. The client has the full benefits of heating and cooling at an economic and safe way.

Case Study 3

Large house in North London. Client has under floor heating and wants full cooling to all areas. In total 20 areas. 60Kw of cooling.

Design brief: Client doesn't want a string of out door condenser units out side of his property, nor does he want wall hung wall splits. Client wants discrete fan coils.

Problems: We have very limited depth in the ground and 1st floor ceilings so duct units could not be used other than localised areas. If duct units could have been used the strength of the floor joist would have been severely weakened due to having to have large cuts in them for ducting etc.

Solution: To fit an Sinclair SDV commercial VRV system. Four 14kw outdoor units being used. One way cassettes mainly being used, which not only are they discrete, but disperse the conditioned air efficiently. All the cassette units are linked to a central controller which is then linked to a BMS system. This allows the system to be operated from the central P.C which controls and switches all plant and lighting. Client also has the facility to dial in and switch on air conditioning only when it is needed.

Case Study 4

Client has a conservatory but there is no wall space between the conservatory roof and the back of the house because of the furniture and the layout of the room. The client wants to remove the doors to the dining area in the house to make it more open plan.

Case Study 5

Typical install in large business unit for Volvo Penta in Watford. This was installed for a self contained office within the main office floor plan

Case Study 6

A car motor company in Rotherham, South Yorks, required air conditioning for a car showroom. Solution: to supply and fit two ceiling cassettes units in the ceiling.
